Paul McCartney stayed at Grand Hotel Majestic “già Baglioni” in Bologna during his November 2011 On The Run tour stop. The hotel's own history identifies photographs of McCartney and fans as taken during his stay and describes his arrival, hotel entrance and movements on the morning of the concert.
Celebrity Hotels classifies this as a verified stay with evidence grade A. Contemporary reporting independently says McCartney spent the night at the central Bologna hotel before his November 26 concert, while his official website confirms the concert date and the crowds outside his hotel.
The official hotel evidence
Grand Hotel Majestic published its detailed account on November 26, 2021, ten years after McCartney's first Bologna concert. The hotel labels its McCartney image as showing him with fans during his stay and then narrates his arrival at the Majestic under escort.
The hotel says the fan and photographer presence continued throughout the stay. It describes McCartney entering the hall, briefly singing for those present, and later leaving quietly for a bicycle ride on the morning of the concert.
This is first-party hotel confirmation of accommodation. The relationship does not rest on a concert near the property, a fan rumor or a photograph at an unidentified entrance.
The November 25–26, 2011 timeline
The hotel says McCartney landed in Bologna on November 25, the day before the concert, flew in privately from London and went first to rehearsal at Unipol Arena. Its account then places his arrival at the Majestic and describes the following morning's bicycle ride.
Il Fatto Quotidiano reported contemporaneously that McCartney landed on Friday afternoon, was surrounded by fans for two days outside Hotel Majestic, formerly Baglioni, and spent the night at the central hotel. The newspaper's report was published on the November 26 concert date.
Those details support an overnight stay spanning the night before the show. They do not publish a formal check-in time or prove when McCartney checked out, so Celebrity Hotels does not turn the itinerary into a longer commercial booking.
The concert and the hotel are separate facts
McCartney's official website confirms that he played Unipol Arena in Bologna on November 26, 2011 as part of the On The Run tour. A same-day post also records crowds camped outside his hotel and the attention surrounding his first concert in the city.
The concert explains why McCartney was in Bologna, but an arena appearance alone would not prove a hotel stay. The stay verdict comes from the Majestic's direct account and Il Fatto's report that he spent the night there.
Likewise, fans outside a hotel could establish only reported presence if no accommodation statement existed. Here those crowd scenes are context for separately confirmed lodging.
Which Grand Hotel Majestic?
The verified property is Grand Hotel Majestic “già Baglioni” at Via dell'Indipendenza 8 in central Bologna. The hotel's official site gives that address and coordinates of approximately 44.495874, 11.342707.
The Celebrity Hotels record uses the shortened name Grand Hotel Majestic and coordinates within a few metres of the official location. Its stored Booking.com path uses the former Hotel Baglioni name. Booking returned an anti-bot page during this check, so its current title was not relied upon; the official address and near-exact coordinates establish the core property identity. This is historical-name continuity, not a sister-property transfer.
The hotel's official history says Hotel Baglioni opened at the same Bologna property in 1912 and is now Grand Hotel Majestic “già Baglioni.” Il Fatto uses both Majestic and former Baglioni wording in its 2011 report, reinforcing that the names refer to the same accommodation.
What the evidence establishes
The evidence establishes that McCartney used Grand Hotel Majestic as his Bologna accommodation around the November 26, 2011 On The Run concert. It supports at least the night immediately before the show and hotel activity on the concert morning.
The official hotel narrative and contemporary newspaper account agree on the exact property, city, travel purpose and timing. McCartney's own tour archive independently anchors the Bologna performance date and venue.
A later Locali Storici d'Italia hotel history also lists McCartney among the celebrities who stayed at Grand Hotel Majestic. That retrospective corroboration is useful, but the Grade A verdict already rests on the hotel's direct confirmation.
What remains uncertain
No reviewed source publishes McCartney's reservation confirmation, room or suite, exact check-in or checkout time, total charged nights, rate, payer, booking agent, security allocation or complete entourage accommodation.
The sources do not prove that McCartney used the Majestic on another Bologna trip or that it remains his current preference. His next scheduled show was in Milan on November 27, but that itinerary cannot be converted into a Bologna checkout time.
No hotel, newspaper, artist or fan photograph has been copied into this article. Images remain on their source pages under the control of their photographers, publishers and licensors.
Why this receives grade A
Evidence grade A requires first-party hotel or official social evidence with a direct basis. Grand Hotel Majestic explicitly identifies McCartney's stay and narrates hotel activity surrounding it, satisfying the hotel-confirmation standard.
Il Fatto Quotidiano independently reported the overnight stay while the trip was happening. McCartney's official tour archive confirms the November 26 concert, and current hotel records resolve the exact address and former-name continuity.
