Lady Gaga stayed at W Taipei during her May 2012 concert visit. A contemporary Taipei Times report says she travelled from Songshan Airport to the W Hotel, where she was staying, and Getty Images dates her photographed arrival at the property to May 16, 2012. Later independent hotel features identify W Taipei's Extreme Wow suite as her accommodation.
Celebrity Hotels classifies this as a verified stay with evidence grade B. The evidence establishes accommodation at W Taipei during the May 2012 trip. It does not publish a reservation, checkout date, billed-night count, rate or payer.
The contemporary evidence
The Taipei Times published its account on May 18, 2012 during Gaga's two-night Taipei concert run. It reports that she arrived by chartered plane at Songshan Airport on Wednesday, May 16, then travelled by motorcade to the W Hotel, where the newspaper explicitly says she was staying.
The report also describes fans meeting Gaga after she stepped out of the car at the hotel. That arrival scene alone would establish presence, but the newspaper's separate accommodation statement is what supports the stay verdict.
Getty Images' dated editorial record independently captions Gaga arriving at W Hotel in Taipei on May 16. The photo agency connects the arrival to her May 17 and May 18 concerts at the Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall. Celebrity Hotels links to that record but does not copy the photograph.
Why this is a stay rather than only a hotel arrival
A celebrity can arrive at a hotel for a press conference, meal, event or meeting without occupying a room. Fans waiting outside and a photographed entrance therefore cannot establish accommodation by themselves.
Here the Taipei Times directly states that W Hotel was where Gaga was staying. The dated Getty arrival record supplies recognizable visual corroboration of the exact hotel and trip. Later travel publications independently describe the room she used.
The conclusion remains limited to the May 2012 visit. It does not establish that W Taipei was Gaga's regular, exclusive or current hotel in the city.
The Extreme Wow suite reports
SUITCASE Magazine's W Taipei review says Lady Gaga stayed in the hotel's Extreme Wow suite when she visited Taipei. A 2025 Liberty Times hotel feature independently identifies Gaga among the international performers who used W Taipei's top duplex suite and says she selected it when she came to Taiwan for concerts.
Those two retrospective reports consistently identify the same suite. They add useful room context to the contemporaneous stay evidence, but neither is a public reservation record or guest folio. Celebrity Hotels therefore attributes the suite identification to the publishers rather than presenting it as disclosed booking paperwork.
The 2025 feature describes a renovated version of the suite after a property-wide refurbishment begun in 2023. Its current colors, technology, layout details and published price cannot be projected backward as an exact description of the room Gaga encountered in 2012.
The May 2012 timeline
Getty dates Gaga's W Hotel arrival to May 16, 2012. The Taipei Times says her concerts took place on May 17 and May 18 and describes W Hotel as her accommodation during that run.
Those dates establish the travel and performance context, but they do not supply formal check-in and checkout timestamps. The sources do not say whether she arrived before the photographed hotel entrance, departed immediately after the second concert or remained in Taipei longer.
Celebrity Hotels therefore does not convert the concert schedule into a two-night hotel bill. It reports a stay during the May 2012 visit and leaves the commercial duration private.
Separating the 2011 Regent Taipei visit
Gaga also visited Taiwan in July 2011, but that was a different trip and a different hotel. Celebrity Hotels' separate Regent Taipei evidence report documents that earlier visit from its own source set.
The May 2012 W Taipei evidence must not be backdated to 2011, while the Regent evidence must not be transferred to W Taipei. Both hotels existed as separate Taipei properties, and Gaga's return the following year created two distinct accommodation questions.
This article covers only W Taipei in May 2012. It makes no claim about which hotel she preferred across visits or whether either property handled later trips.
Exact property identity
The verified W property is W Taipei in the Xinyi district. The 2025 Liberty Times feature gives its address as 10, Section 5, Zhongxiao East Road and identifies the hotel's Extreme Wow suite. Marriott's current W Taipei page and the existing Celebrity Hotels booking target resolve to the same hotel.
The dated Getty record calls the arrival location W Hotel in Taipei, while the contemporary newspaper uses W Hotel. In this context those are shortened references to W Taipei, not a sister W property in another city.
The site record's W Taipei slug, Taipei city, coordinates and Booking.com target all map to the Xinyi hotel. No former-name, sister-property or booking-target conflict was found.
What the evidence establishes
The evidence establishes that Gaga used W Taipei as accommodation during her May 2012 concert trip and arrived at the hotel on May 16. Two later independent travel features identify the Extreme Wow suite as the room category associated with her visit.
The sources also establish that the May 17 and 18 performances were the purpose of the documented trip. Concert attendance and hotel accommodation remain distinct facts: the performances explain her presence in Taipei, while the newspaper's stay statement establishes the hotel relationship.
What remains uncertain
No accessible source reviewed here publishes Gaga's checkout date, number of charged nights, reservation confirmation, room number, rate, payer, booking party, total bill or full entourage allocation.
The evidence does not show whether the suite was paid, hosted or supplied through a commercial arrangement. It does not establish repeat W Taipei stays or allow today's renovated suite description and price to be assigned to 2012.
No hotel, agency, newspaper or social-media image has been copied into this article. The Getty image remains linked at its licensed source, and all other visual rights remain with their owners.
Why this receives grade B
Evidence grade B requires at least two independent reputable publishers and a direct basis. The Taipei Times explicitly reports the stay during the trip. Getty supplies dated recognizable arrival evidence, while SUITCASE and the Liberty Times independently provide the same W Taipei suite identification.
Marriott's current page confirms the property identity but does not confirm Gaga's accommodation. The article therefore remains grade B rather than treating a present-day hotel page as first-party stay evidence.
Evidence verdict
Verified: Lady Gaga stayed at W Taipei during her May 2012 concert visit.
Relationship type: Stay.
Direct evidence: Contemporary reporting says W Hotel was where Gaga was staying, and dated editorial photography documents her May 16 arrival at the Taipei property.
Reported room: SUITCASE Magazine and the Liberty Times identify W Taipei's Extreme Wow suite.
Not verified: Checkout date, charged-night count, reservation, exact room number, rate, payer, commercial arrangement, later W stays or current preference.
This is a high-confidence 2012 W Taipei stay, kept separate from Gaga's documented 2011 Regent Taipei visit and from the suite's later renovation.
